Europe's Elite United: WEVCA Congress 2026 successfully concludes in Zurich

Zurich, Switzerland – The Women’s European Volleyball Club Association (WEVCA) succesfully hosted its inaugural Congress on 23-24 June 2026 at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, bringing together presidents, executives and decision-makers from Europe’s leading women’s volleyball clubs.

Held under the motto “Europe’s Elite United”, the Congress provided a platform to discuss the future of European women’s club volleyball, focusing on commercial growth, legal developments, fan engagement and international cooperation. The program featured keynote speeches and pane discussions with distinguished experts from Volleyball World, Two Circles, FIBA, IIHF, LOVB, Ernst & Young AG and Ideline Group AG, offering valuable insights from across the global sports industry.

During the General Assembly, WEVCA Members approved the association’s Strategic Paper 2026-2030, confirmed several strategic initiatives and established specialized commissions to strengthen collaboration in the areas of legal affairs, commercial development and competition calendars. “The Zurich Congress demonstrated the strength of collaboration between Europe’s leading clubs” said WEVCA President Aldo Fumagalli. “Together, we are building a stronger and more sustainable future for women’s club volleyball”.

The Congress concluded with a networking event celebrating the growing cooperation among European clubs and reaffirming WEVCA’s commitment to becoming the collective voice of women’s club volleyball in Europe.
